APR18-21 | Paddle Canada Level 1 Instructor: Victoria

The Sea Kayak Level-1 Instructor course provides national certification in the instruction and administration of the Paddle Canada Level-1 Skills course.

During a four-day period, you will develop your skills in group management, lesson planning, and paddler assessment. The Level-1 Instructor course also covers important topics like weather and navigation, preparing you to lead groups in varying water conditions such as light winds, gentle waves, and slow-moving currents.

The Sea Kayak Level-1 Instructor is certified to:

• conduct Waterfront Kayak, Basic Kayak and Level-1 Skills courses and certify paddlers at those levels,
• assist a Level-2 Instructor on a Level-2 Skills course, and
• assist a Basic Kayak Instructor Trainer on a Basic Kayak Instructor or Waterfront

• Paddle Canada Level-2 certification
